“very, much”（非常）、“too，either”（也）、“ago，before”（以前）是英語中常見的數(shù)對副詞，它們之間的用法各不相同，應(yīng)加以分辨。

　　1 very, much非常

　　very修飾形容詞、副詞的原級，而much修飾它們的比較級,一般來說very much修飾動詞。

　　注意

　　不能按漢語語序說（×）i very like english.

　　2 too，either也。

　　當“也”講時，too一般用于肯定句，通常放在句末，否定句時用either。

　　you are a student. i am a student， too.

　　你是學(xué)生，我也是學(xué)生。

　　you aren’t a teacher. i am not a teacher，either.

　　你不是老師，我也不是。

　　you are also a teacher.

　　你也是個老師。

　　she also wants to learn english.

　　她也想要學(xué)習(xí)英語。

　　注意

　　also(也）是比too更為正式的用語，它的位置和頻度副詞的位置一樣。

　　3 ago，before以前

　　my grandfather died three years ago.

　　我祖父三年前去世。

　　i said my grand father had died three years before.

　　我祖父三年前就去世了。

　　1.ago是以現(xiàn)在為基準，指“距今若干時間以前”，ago不能單獨使用,應(yīng)用three days（years， weeks…）ago,并且和動詞的過去時連用。

　　i met our teacher an hour ago.

　　一小時前，我碰見了我們老師。

　　2.before之前有“若干時間”時，指“距那時若干時間以前”，和過去完成時連用。

　　he said he had finished the work two days before.

　　過去的某個時間

　　他說，他二天前就把工作做完了。

　�。ㄈ绻�這句話沒有過去的某個時間“said”，

　　則應(yīng)為 he finished the work two days ago.）

　　3.before前面沒有“若干時間”，即單獨使用時，是泛指“以前”，常常和完成時連用。

　　i have seen the film before.

　　我以前看過這部電影。

　�。ā粒� i have seen the film ago.

　�。ㄟ@句話是以現(xiàn)在為基點，即說話時剛剛過去之前，所以時態(tài)用現(xiàn)在完成時，用before而不用ago，且不加任何別的詞。如果 before后接其他詞如before dinner, before class，則此時的before是介詞，不是副詞。）
